The Rubens dispute ...
is embodied by the Rubensbrunnen in the grounds of the Oberes Schloss. The tinkling fountain at the southern side of the Hexenturm was created by Siegen artist Hermann Kuhmichel.
The sculpture just behind the water basin depicts three women with a baby. These symbolise the cities of Antwerp, Cologne and Siegen, which spent centuries arguing over which should be recognised as the birthplace of Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens.
