The flowers in the city centre are a project of the centre management to increase the quality of stay and attractiveness of Siegen's city centre. In collaboration with the ISG Oberstadt, a company specialising in urban greening was commissioned to not only install the hanging baskets, but also to ensure that they are regularly maintained and watered.

‘We are very pleased about the special eye-catchers in the Oberstadt,’ says Kerstin Wagner. ‘The project had already been planned for nine months. With this initiative, we are making a further contribution to increasing the quality of living in our city centre.’ If the concept proves successful in the current season, there are plans to extend it to other streets in Siegen city centre.
