At the Siegener jubilee city-festival from the 30th of August to the 1st of September people celebrated in the best weather. Around 120,000 visitors flocked to the city centre and enjoyed the program in the best summer weather.

Another bright highlight of the festivities was the station theater "Glut. Aus der Feuerchronik einer Stadt" in the Schlosspark. On the 4th of July from 10 p.m., the Berlin ensemble "Theater Anou" staged the Schlosspark and the newly renovated city wall with great plays of fire and light. Also the old town festival on the 15th of September was much bigger and celebrated in a very special way - this time with an exciting stamping rally along the city wall and children's costume action. In wonderful late summer weather, as many visitors as ever came to the old town festival and enjoyed the hospitality of the residents of the neighborhood: There was a lot going on on the Pfarrer-Ochse-Platz and in the churches and museums. At the end of the year, the big Silverster party took place on the square oft he „Unteres Schloss“. Instead of a normal fireworks display, a spectacular laser show took place at 12 o'clock that throws fantastic motifs into the night sky of Siegen.
