Night of 1000 Lights 2025

On the 11th and 12th of July, countless candles, fire pits and colourful LED spotlights lit up the city centre of Siegen. This year, the festive illumination stretched from the terrace area on the banks of the Sieg and the Herrengarten, across the Upper Town bridge, through Kölner Straße and Poststraße, up to the market and Kornmarkt.

The festival area attracted a total of around 20,000 visitors to the city on both days from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., inviting them to stroll, enjoy and relax. A colourful light installation with special effects awaited visitors on the Siegufer. Next door in the Herrengarten, the festivities continued with delicious snacks and drinks, great lighting effects and a small stage with a DJ and light techno music. Hundreds ofpaper lanterns lined the path from the new Oberstadtbrücke bridge through Kölner Straße and Poststraße up to theUpper Town. At the market and Kornmarkt near the town hall, there were large fire barrels where visitors could bake bread on sticks.

Atmospheric live music and food and drink stalls invited visitors to linger. The surrounding buildings were also illuminated appropriately, and a huge disco ball bathed the market square in light.
