Stories about its founder, Prince Johann Moritz von Nassau-Siegen, bring the age of discovery and religious confusion in the 16th and early 17th centuries to life. The Nikolai church was the centre of religious life. Trade and commerce were centred right next door. The historic town hall can be viewed from the outside. Many anecdotes can be told about the hustle and bustle of the market, which you can listen to while sitting comfortably on one of the benches in the Fißmer-Anlage.
