Relaxed picnic moments on the banks of the Sieg

From 4 pm to 8 pm, the steps on the banks of the Sieg were once again transformed into a popular meeting place for families, groups of friends and anyone wishing to enjoy the summer in a relaxed atmosphere. The city centre picnic offered the perfect opportunity to spend time together right by the water.

With summery picnic blankets, free pretzels and a games basket from Thalia Spielwaren filled with popular classic games, top-class entertainment was guaranteed. Café Extrablatt provided guests with special takeaway picnic drinks – ranging from non-alcoholic picnic cocktails to a sparkling champagne selection. The accompanying social media competition was also a huge hit.

In glorious summer weather, visitors enjoyed the special riverside setting and created a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere right in the heart of the city centre.

Creativity and culture at “Kunstweg & Co.”

The morning already featured “Kunstweg & Co.”, a varied cultural programme centred around the Kunstweg. From 11 am to 4 pm, local artists showcased their works and talents, transforming the area between Sandstraße and the banks of the Sieg into a vibrant hub of interaction and inspiration.

Musical performances by the drum group “Cariba” and singer-songwriter Karolyn Amy provided some special auditory experiences. Live painting by Sarah Volkmer, the exhibition by Slava Rashevsky, and creative hands-on activities such as a mini-workshop at Atelier F12 and glass upcycling invited visitors to explore and have a go.

The successful blend of art, culture and the pleasant summer atmosphere made the day a special experience for visitors of all ages and demonstrated once again just how diverse Siegen’s city centre is.
